As the young man Shirabane is bitten by a zombie, a thought crosses his mind— This is awesome. His parents vanished, he couldn’t attend high school, and every day he was hounded by debt collectors. Drowning in despair, his life had hit rock bottom. And yet, for some reason, he wakes up—fully conscious, but as a zombie!? If that’s the case, why not go to the high school he never could, make some zombie friends, and enjoy a second life to the fullest!! But that brief moment of happiness doesn’t last long. Once again, he finds himself despairing over this rotten world. In a decaying world like this, what will the young man come to see? And when he dies once more… what will he leave behind?
